In Saint Petersburg, players take important roles in the building of Saint Petersburg. The players acquire workers, buildings and aristocrats. These earn the players money, points or both during the game. For the aristcorats, players can earn additional points at the end of the game. The player who is best able to manage his meager money supply and buy the right things at the right times will win the game.

Saint Petersburg was designed by Michael Tummelhofer and is published by Hans im Glück (German edition) and Rio Grande Games (English edition).

Playing via the Web

As with all games, rules are required. Please read the rules of engagement that cover For Whom The Web Rocks games. The following additional rules apply to these Saint Petersburg games.

Saint Petersburg games require two to four players.
Please use a subject of Saint Petersburg exxx or SP exxx when sending orders (replace the 'xxx' with the game number, e.g. Saint Petersburg e999).
The Banquet Expansion can be used. When you join a game you can choose which type of game to play.
The stats for each card will be shown in the form [x-y-z], where x is the cost, y is the ruble value and z is the victory point value.
Cards held in the hand will show the deck they belong to, and for trading cards, which deck they upgrade: {W} {B} {A} {TW} {TB} {TA}.
Special cards (from the Banquet Expansion) will be marked when held in the hand as {SP}.
To buy a card or add one to you hand, tell me which card you want and what to do with it.
When playing a card from your hand, make it clear that it is coming from your hand.
When buying or playing a Trading card, say which card you are using in part exchange.
Moves made for players by the referee will normally involve buying the cheapest affordable card.
