Experience the golden age of the Renaissance. Assume the role of the head of an Italian Aristocratic dynasty and lead your family like the Medici or Borgia. The players support the builders, artists and scholars so that their completed works will bring their families fame and prestige. As the patrons of the creators of great works, players seek to multiply their fame and reputations, but only one will become the most prestigious Prince of Florence!

Princes of Florence was designed by Richard Ulrich and Wolfgang Kramer, and is published by alea (German edition) and Rio Grande Games (English edition).

You will need to know the rules of the game in order to play. I have created a reference page for the game where you can check the requirements for the various Professions and see the Bonus and Prestige cards in the game..

Playing via the Web

As with all games, rules are required. Please read the rules of engagement that cover For Whom The Web Rocks games. The following additional rules apply to these Prince of Florence games.

Princes of Florence games require three to five players.
Please use a subject of Princes of Florence exxx, Princes exxx or PoF exxx when sending orders (replace the 'xxx' with the game number, e.g. PoF e999).
Unlike previous games, your private information will be sent to you with your e-mail prompts. Your private information for this game is the hand of cards you hold. You should keep these messages while they are relevant. General message addressed to all players, such as messages relating to auctions, will not contain this information, as it would then become public.
Once an auction has been started, all players who can bid will be asked to submit orders for the auction. An e-mail group of all players in the game will be used for this so that everyone is aware of the chosen auction, although only those players with decisions to make need respond. This e-mail group will only be used for messages about the game.
To speed up play, these messages should be responded to without waiting to see how others may have reacted. Conditional orders can be provided, based on the actions of players whose turn occurs before yours. The game page is not updated until everyone has ordered for the auction.
Some situations will require you to give a location for an item, such as a Forest or a building. If the location is not given, I may well place it for you.
Moves made for players by the referee will normally involve actions to improve the player's potential score.
