What happens if I order something you don't have in stock?
A
I will let you know when I confirm your order. You can choose to cancel the item, or
leave it on back order, in which case I will notify you when it is available.
Q
Do I have to pay in advance for back-ordered items?
A
No, when I notify you it is available I will confirm the cost and request payment.
Q
I have a subscription to your magazine/web site. Can I pay for my order with those
funds?
A
As long as there is enough in the pot, you may indeed.
Q
Why do I have to pay through PayPal if I am ordering from outside the UK?
A
I don't want to get involved in individual currency conversions, which incur variable
charges and make it difficult to calculate total costs.
Q
What is PayPal?
A
PayPal is a web site that lets people pay for services and goods quickly and easily.
It is particularly useful when you need to pay someone in another country. It isn't free,
but very few money transfers are. For more information, visit their web site at www.paypal.com and click on their Help link.
Q
I had a problem with an order I placed with you. What are you going to do about it?
A
Let me know what the problem is, and we'll see what we can work out. I aim to avoid
problems, but life can sometimes get in the way. If the problem is with delivery, please
note that I may not be able to make a claim until sufficient time has gone by. What is
considered 'sufficient' time is determined by the delivery service.
Q
Can you get me a copy of this game that I've heard of but isn't listed on your site?
A
Quite possibly. Tell me what you're interested in and I'll make some enquiries.
Q
When I click an Update Order button, the page still
claims that my shopping basket is empty. Am I doing anything wrong?
A
Not necessarily. You need to have cookies enabled on your system for this to work
properly. If you are sitting behind a firewall, the settings on the firewall may prevent
this from working. If you experience this problem, you can place an order using the basic order form.
Q
Why are there so many Update Order buttons?
A
I could have put one at the top, one at the bottom, or something like that, but then
buttons might not be visible when you want to update the order. All the buttons do the
same thing, having lots of them just guarantees that one is available when you want it.
Q
I don't like cookies. What are you storing on my computer?
A
The cookie that lets the order pages work stores one number which identifies your
session while you are in the store. The web server will do this automatically. All I am
doing is using it to keep track of your session. When you close your browser this cookie
is deleted. The information about what you are ordering is held anonymously on the web
server. This is deleted when the session times out, which is shortly after your last visit
to the web site. If you won't or can't enable cookies, you can place an order using the basic order form.
